Sontay, the market leader in field control devices, has recently supported a Breast Cancer Care Event in London, a cause close to the company’s heart.
The Show London for Breast Cancer Care event took place on Thursday 4th October 2018 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge hotel, London. As well as using the day for fundraising, the event was designed to recognise and celebrate 32 courageous models who took to the catwalk following a breast cancer diagnosis.
The Sontay team was keen to support the event as a staff member, Denise McFarland, has recently been battling the disease. Sontay sponsored the flower bouquets being given to all of the inspirational models as well as the presenters.
Denise comments, “My recent mammogram was clear, so I no longer have cancer, but I have taken this whole experience as a wake-up call to look after myself. I returned to work, driving, walking, swimming and gardening in March though I had to be very careful at first and tired easily. Last week, on my 65th birthday, I walked up Glastonbury Tor with no problems, so my energy levels and joints are not so bad! I think the research being undertaken and supported by events such as The London Show has meant huge leaps and bounds are being made in the treatment of cancer.”
Stacey Lucas, Commercial & Marketing Director at Sontay, comments: “We take great pride in being able to support causes such as Breast Cancer Care and other charities that our staff are especially close to. We are delighted that Denise is on the path to recovery and we hope our support can help others living with breast cancer.”
