Sontay is pleased to welcome Roberto Cabana, who joined the business in December as Southern Europe Sales Manager. With over 25 years of international leadership experience, Roberto brings a strong track record in business development, international expansion, and building high-performing teams across global markets.
Alongside his professional background, Roberto also shares insights into what motivates him beyond the role, from his passion for music and family life to the global experiences that have shaped his outlook. Q: Why did you want to work at Sontay?
A: Sontay was a very attractive company to work for, it has over 50 years of history, it’s well-established and has a good reputation and is eager to grow internationally.
Q: Which aspect of the role are you most excited to start?
A: Getting to know my customers and establishing new business, as there is much to be built in my region, with countries that have great potential.
Q: What attracts you to the HVAC industry?
A: For years, I have had responsibilities in sectors with common clients, integrators, and distributors, so it is a sector in which I feel comfortable.
Q: Now for a few fun, quickfire questions! What do you like to read/listen to/watch?
A: I listen to all kinds of music, depending on my emotional state and the situation. Music is very important in my life.
Q: Who is your hero?
A: Anyone in my family for different reasons.
Q: What is your perfect weekend?
A: Going to the market, buying fresh fish, meat and vegetables. Being at home preparing a nice lunch for my family and/or friends and watching my kids play basketball games.
Q: What five guests would you invite to a dinner party? Dead or alive…
A: Albert Einstein, Cleopatra, Nelson Mandela, Rafael Nadal and Steve Jobs.
Q: Bonus Question! Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.
A: Perhaps most interestingly, over the past 25 years I have lived and worked in countries such as Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Japan, Thailand, and India, among others, including 17 years in China. This has made me an open-minded person who is respectful of different cultures and adaptable to different situations.
