The past few months have certainly been a challenge for us all!  Who’d have known back in January that the COVID-19 pandemic would hit us all the way it has.

At Sontay, we have ridden the rollercoaster and weathered the storm to see green shoots of possibility and opportunity emerging.

Since closing the factory and despatch department in late March and the subsequent re-opening, we have seen our business levels grow month on month.

Intelligent Buildings and their capabilities may hold a key in getting us all back into some form of normality by providing monitoring and control of our indoor environments.  Occupancy and air quality are just a couple of aspects that will need to be measured and controlled to ensure safety and build confidence in people venturing out into what was their ordinary lives.

The Sontay team have been working hard to ensure we have all of the products required by our loyal customers and in particular those in critical applications such as health care settings.  Our factory is operating under strict measures to ensure the safety of our team and many of the support functions are still working from home to re-enforce that protection.

We have been bringing more of the team back from furlough as our operational need grows with the majority now back in the business.  Although we have been keeping in touch and holding social events, it is great to be working with many members of the team who have been away.  It has been such an extraordinary time for us all and we have genuinely missed each other.  Sontay has a real family feel as a business and it is the people that make it what it is!
